My Favorite Places... To Date

One of my dreams that I'd like to accomplish in life would be to travel the world. So far I have manage to cover most of the islands in the Caribbean. In this segment I'll speak about the places that I've traveled to and my personal opinions of the visits.


In my toddler years I travelled to other countries by air, but in recent times I’ve been able to travel on cruise ships that sometimes can cover 3-7 countries in a span of a week. Living in Jamaica for the greater part of my life, I still had the feeling of being a tourist at times as my family and I would go to the coast of the island to spend our weekends at resorts. Outside of Jamaica, I have yet to travel to other countries in the Greater Antilles of the Caribbean such as: Cuba, Haiti, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.

Where the Lesser Antilles Islands are concerned I have been to St. Kitts and Nevis, Turks and Caicos and others that I might have to check the passport book for, so those probably aren’t worth the trouble. My time in the countries mentioned, however, reminded me of Jamaica. The culture of the people although different, carried a resemblance of home. The biggest factor of all these countries I believe would be the fact that they were all surrounded by the Caribbean Sea.

Of course, for the food lovers these countries have nothing less than great tasting foods to offer. Each country usually had their own special dishes that they are known and remembered for and they all carry a story about their people and their home.

Even though these places aren’t the last places I hope to travel in my life, they definitely have started my journey across the world.
